I guess at some point of time everyone feels the same! Maybe its a thing to do with the industry or maybe it has more to do with the tools we use. We were discussing this a few days back and most of my friends felt that we dont get work to match up with the tools - Not many challenges thrown around to test what we know in a very practical sense!

Hey Alex, maybe you’ve peaked out. Try picking up something radically different yet strangely related. For me it was video post production and Apple’s Final Cut Studio. I’ve worked on two documentaries and am doing post on a talk show right now. It’s awesome…and with the combined skillset the possibilities are mind blowing…

You bring up some really poignant thoughts about working for the Man vs. yourself. I’m at a big dot com, it’s pretty cushy and predictable, but I too wonder if I took the solo leap how that would pan out. Doug’s post does make it sound awfully tempting. I would say if your AS3/Flex coding chops are anywhere near his, then take the leap. Good luck!
